Post - Graduate in Physics; exponent of Kathak; (Graduate from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi). Empanelled with ICCR; 'A' grade artiste of Delhi Doordarshan; Recipient of a Senior Fellowship from the Department of Culture to carry out research on the project "To Evolve a teaching methodology especially suited to teach children studying Kathak"; Conducting regular classes in Kathak under TYAAG; has a children's repertory; has choreographed items that deal especially with the world of children. Has used the integrated approach to teach Kathak to children involving Yoga, music, improvisation and trust games to ensure all round development of the child as an artiste. Has presented students on the stage regularly since 1992. The presentations have involved both the traditional repertoire as well as education related and value oriented themes. Worked as Yoga Instructor at Kathak Kendra, New Delhi (1986 to 1999)

A very versatile thinker and educationist, Shiladitya believes that Art Education has a significant contribution to make towards building and promoting a holistic society, free from violence and lack of scruples.

With a professional training in History, Shiladitya is the Head of the Social Science Department at The Shri Ram School. Theatre, Dance, Painting and Photography have played a very prominent role in his own education. The major focus of his studies and activities has been on Art and Education. He has pursued an academic interest in the History of Art and Culture through the National Museum of Art and has also acquainted himself with theories and practices of education management over the years. An additional Diploma in Human Resource Management equips him with the necessary know how to move towards his objectives with finesse.

A founder trustee of TYAAG, Shiladitya hopes to promote art activity in collaboration with persons who wish to extend their support to such activities. He is committed to work with those who have chosen to struggle through, to be creative imaginative and original in their way of life.
