Tyaag .............

TYAAG is a charitable trust (Registration Code : 997/25/3/1/99) formed with the sole purpose of spreading art and yoga education in society through a network of classes / workshops, initially, to be set up in Delhi. Although the trust became formally registered in March, 1999, work in the areas mentioned has been going on since 1986. The founder trustees of the organization are deeply concerned that a society which is into the art of yoga is a society which possesses good physical health as well as mental discipline, emotional control and a deep spiritual consciousness - factors very essential for one's well-being. The nurturing of one's artistic talents gives rise to the creation of exquisite work in art and brings in its wake a deep sense of fulfillment in the life an artist/artiste. As a therapy, the arts serve as a beautiful channel through which all emotional stress vaporizes.

A society which is engrossed in the study of the arts (hobby or professional) is a society that is non-violent and given to a greater sensitivity towards the well-being of all of its members. Such a society is bound to flourish.

Tyaag is committed to reviving and nurturing the fast-vanishing and lesser-understood values of the Indian System of culture --- values that have stood the test of time as pillars on which rests the hope of a healthy and happy society. It wishes to create the environment which an artiste would find conducive to producing sensitive works of art.

Tyaag recognizes and honors the need to awaken deeper levels of consciousness in our children through the integrated approach which will nurture and protect their individual talent as well as ensure that they grow into sensitive and well-adjusted human beings. At the level of smaller children, the training process is gently playful. The product that emerges is professionally very competent. Four students of TYAAG are scholarship - holders with the C. C. R. T. (Centre for Cultural Resources & Training, Government of India)

Prior to its formal registration, Tyaag has informally been functioning as 'The Study Circle' for about five years. It has served as a forum to promote interaction between artistes of different fields.
