Monsoon Festivals
The first Monsoon Festival was held in August 1990. Artists who have performed over the years in this festival that celebrates the season of rains, romance and rejuvenation include Nandini Singh (Kathak), P.L. Pawar (violin), Devaki Pandit (Hindustani vocal) Priyadarshini Govind (Bharata Natyam), Salil Bhatt (Mohana veena), Shashadhar Acharya (Chhau), Chengannur Srikumar (Songs of Monsoon), Prathibha Prahlad (Bharata Natyam), Ranjana Gauhar (Odissi), Jayaprabha Menon (Mohiniattam), Vyjayanthi Kashi (Kuchupudi), Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra (Contemporaray Dance), Madhup Mudgal (Hindustani Vocal) and others.


This year, on 19 and 20 July 2005, the Monsoon Festival gets an international flavour. The artists include Shanti Sharma (Hindustani vocal), Sunanda Nair, USA (Mohiniattam), Sarathi Chatterjee (Hindustani vocal), Madhavi Mudgal (Odissi), Prerna Shrimali (Kathak), Shiram Bharatiya Kala Kendra (Contemporary Dance), Rama Vaidyanathan (Bharata Natyam), Marie Cecil and Aurelie Fery, France (Western classical flute) and others.

Organized jointly by two well-known cultural organizations of the Capital - Art India in association with Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kenrda - Monsoon Festival was held in New Delhi on 19 to 20 July 2005 at the Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi daily at 6.30pm
